Building Craftsmanship: Educating a New Generation
Mobile, Alabama
2004 International Preservation Trades Workshop
October 21-24, 2004
and the
2004 Alabama Preservation Conference
October 22-23, 2004
The conference of the PTN organization is different from other annual conferences. PTN encourages hands-on presentations by individuals knowledgeable and experienced in the physical trades related to the preservation and conservation of construction. PTN focuses on building an international community of individuals that are interested in education and understanding related to the materials and techniques of construction as it pertains to the conservation of the built environment. -- Bryan Blundell
The annual Alabama Preservation Conference will partner with PTN in 2004 to make this organizations hands-on demonstrations of preservation craftsmanship available to our Conference attendees. The Alabama Preservation Conference will also produce the events to which our Conference participants are accustomed, including the annual APA Silent Auction and Reception, the annual Alabama Preservation Awards Ceremony, and a variety of educational sessions.
The Mobile Historic Development Commission and the Historic Mobile Preservation Society will jointly host this important conference welcoming attendees to the International Preservation Trades Workshop and the Alabama Preservation Conference. For this event the venues will include Spanish Plaza, the Carnival Association Museum, the National Landmark Government Street Presbyterian Church, the Mobile Civic Center, the magnificent Christ Episcopal Church, the National Landmark Old Southern Market (City of Mobile Museum), and Fort Conde-Charlotte.
